A former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has responded to claims that he is a corrupt politician.

Obi said that he left behind the sum of N36 billion and another $150 million which he would have easily stolen by the time he was leaving office as Anambra Governor.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 general election stated this when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics on Sunday.

Asked about his name being mentioned in the Panama Papers, Obi called for full investigation of the indicting document.

The former Governor insisted that a thief does not leave what he was supposed to steal, vowing to fight corruption head on if he becomes Nigerian President.

ASIWAJU MEDIA reports that Peter Obi’s followers believe so much in him but there are those who do not think he is the right man to lead the country.

Asked if he can be trusted with power to restore hope to the people, Obi said, “Everything I’ve said as governor when I was coming campaigning to be the governor of Anambra State, I said, I will fix education, I will make sure I improve in education.
