Only Goodluck Jonathan Can Defeat Tinubu in 2027 – Deji Adeyanju

Popular lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju believes that no Southern presidential hopeful can defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027—except former President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a post shared on X, Adeyanju argued that the most effective opposition strategy would be a ticket featuring Jonathan and NNPP leader Rabiu Kwankwaso, or alternatively, a young Northern candidate paired with Peter Obi.
“The coalition best ticket in my view is maybe GEJ/Kwankwaso or, if they want to go north, a young northerner/Obi,” he wrote. “But no Southern candidate can defeat Tinubu except GEJ.”
He further dismissed Atiku Abubakar’s chances, saying: “Atiku is too old. He won’t excite young voters. Opposition needs to excite young voters.”
Predicting the 2027 outcome, Adeyanju added:
“Obi will win online;
Atiku will win the coalition ticket;
Tinubu will win the election.
Fresh shouting of ‘Not My President.’
But how can all these be prevented?”
