Two Missing AAUA Students Found Dead in Bush Near Ondo-Ekiti Border

Tragedy has struck the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, as two missing students of the institution have been found dead.
The deceased have been identified as Andrel Eloho Okah, a 200-level student of History and International Studies, and John Friday Abba, a 200-level student of Economics.
According to TVC News, their remains were discovered over the weekend in a bush located in a border community between Ondo and Ekiti States. The exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear, but security sources reportedly suspect they were killed by abductors.
The students had been declared missing about three weeks ago after their prolonged absence from classes raised concerns among classmates. The school authorities, along with their colleagues and the Ondo State Police Command, had launched a search effort since then.
Confirming the development, the President of the AAUA Students Union Government, Akeem Ologbon, described the incident as a devastating blow to the university community. He detailed the steps taken after the students were declared missing, including contacting the anti-kidnapping squad in Akure, the Scorpion Squad, and alerting other relevant security agencies.
“We can confirm that the newly appointed Commissioner of Police has been fully briefed on the situation and is taking the matter seriously,” Ologbon said in a statement released Monday.
He urged students and the university community to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information, assuring that the union will provide only confirmed updates as the investigation progresses.
“Though we are overwhelmed with grief and anger, we must remain united. Justice will be pursued, and no stone will be left unturned until the truth is revealed and accountability is achieved,” he added.
As of the time of this report, the Ondo State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the discovery.
