The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 25-year-old Ayomide Oluwadamilare, a former driver linked to the brutal murder of Mr. Kola Adun, a resident of River Valley Estate in the Ojodu Berger area, whose decomposing body was recently discovered in his home.

According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the Divisional Police Officer of Ojodu Abiodun Division received a distress call from the Mubarak area in Akute, where residents reported a disturbing stench coming from a house.

“Officers immediately responded and proceeded to Ogunmoyero Street, River Valley Estate, where they forced entry into the premises and found the lifeless body of Mr. Adun on the first floor, bearing visible stab wounds. Bloodstains were also discovered at the scene, and his Toyota Camry with Reg. No. LAGOS AAA 193 GC was missing,” Odutola said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Oluwadamilare had unlawfully entered the residence on Saturday, July 5, 2025, intending to rob his former employer. During the attempted robbery, he allegedly stabbed Adun to death before fleeing the scene with the stolen vehicle.

The breakthrough came when the suspect attempted to sell the stolen car to a dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu. The dealer, suspicious of Oluwadamilare’s story, alerted the police, leading to his arrest at the point of sale.

“The remains of the deceased have been evacuated to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for autopsy, while the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation and prosecution,” Odutola added.
