NYSC’s Image Overhaul: A Call to Prioritize Positivity

The Head of the State’s Public Relations Unit, Omolola Aladesoun, emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive image for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) through public relations efforts. 

She delivered this message during the Orientation Course for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream I Corps Members held at Iyana-Ipaja in Lagos.

Mrs. Aladesoun explained that the main goal of public relations is to uphold a positive image of the NYSC through its activities and the Corps Members themselves. 

She reminded the Corps Members that they were representatives of the program and urged them to always present themselves positively to the public.

During her lecture, Mrs. Aladesoun emphasized the significant role Corps Members play in shaping public perception of the NYSC. 

As the Head of the State’s Public Relations Unit, her insights provided valuable guidance, stressing the importance of every action and interaction of the Corps Members in contributing to the overall reputation of the NYSC.


Mrs. Aladesoun focused particularly on the role of publications in PR efforts, highlighting the importance of the ‘Eko Kopa’ Magazine. 

She explained that this publication, managed by the Editorial CDS group and the Public Relations Unit, serves as a means to verify attendance during the service year while facilitating communication and documentation of the Scheme’s activities.

In addition, Mrs. Aladesoun emphasized the significance of adhering to the prescribed NYSC dress code, reminding Corps Members of the need to maintain a professional appearance consistently to uphold the image of the NYSC.
