Mrs. Nwatalari congratulated the Corps Members for their call-up to service and stated that the increasing pressure of unemployment on Nigerian graduates had necessitated the mandate of SAED. Its goal is to contribute meaningfully to achieving the SDGs, particularly in reducing extreme poverty and hunger.

Mrs. Nwatalari further explained that SAED was established to cultivate the culture of entrepreneurship and income generation practices. It helps build capacity to see opportunities to create wealth from situations around, identify demand-driven business skills, gather information on funding opportunities, and provide technical assistance in the job search.

She urged the corps members to enrol in any of the 11 skill sets and take the activities seriously. She also mentioned that the Bank of Industry, Access Bank, and Unity Bank are available to provide loan facilities for funding.

As part of the SAED official opening program, the corps members were introduced to the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), which expatiates business establishment, funding, maximization of profits, etc. The program also includes the introduction of SAED partners who serve as corps-trainers, displaying their finished products.
