NYSC Patners Health Ministry To Provide Mental Support
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State has entered into a partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Health (LAGOSMIND) to provide free mental health support and training to corps members.
This collaboration was formalized following a meeting between LAGOSMIND representatives and the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa in her office.
Dr. Tolu Ajomale, Director of Special Projects and Head of the Mental Health Desk at LAGOSMIND, outlined the program which will offer one year of free mental health support to corps members.
The initiative will select a number of corps members to serve as Wellness Ambassadors, acting as liaisons between LAGOSMIND and their fellow corps members.
Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, the NYSC Lagos State Coordinator, expressed gratitude for the initiative, recognizing its potential impact on the well-being of corps members.
Dr. Ajomale further assured that monthly reports would be sent to the State Coordinator to track the program’s progress and effectiveness.
This partnership aims to address the mental health needs of young graduates during their service year, providing them with valuable resources and support.
