Minister Calls on Lagos Corps Members to Lead Nation’s Transformation
The Federal Minister of Youth Development for State, Honourable Ayodele Olawande, has encouraged Lagos Corps Members who are participating in the 2024 Batch “A” Stream I Orientation Course at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja to contribute to national transformation.
The Minister conveyed this message during the Cultural Carnival of the course, on Sunday, which was an event celebrating the nation’s diversity and cultures.
He urged Corps Members to be dedicated to national development by excelling academically and enhancing their skills, enabling them to lead innovative solutions to improve lives in the country.Â
He also encouraged Lagos Corps Members not to be sceptical, deceived, or negative about the nation.
Meanwhile, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, the State Coordinator of NYSC Lagos, presented a briefing of the camp to the Honourable Minister.Â
She highlighted that Corps Members, despite their diverse tribal and religious backgrounds, have embraced unity, seeing themselves as one family belonging to Nigeria.
The Cultural Carnival concluded with cultural presentations from all ten Platoons on camp. Platoon 7 claimed the first position after re-presenting Lagos Eyo. Platoon 3 secured second place with their presentation of Koroso, while Platoon 9 came third with Efik’s Ekombi dance.
Other displays during the occasion included martial arts, the NYSC band performance, and various other group presentations.
