“The lifting of sanctions underscores ECOWAS’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of African citizens and underscores the spirit of resilience and unity”.
“This action reflects a shared dedication to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity across the region”.
Ambassador Nwannebuike thanked H.E. Bola Ahmed TINUBU, Chairperson of the ECOWAS Authority, and the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS for their decisive leadership in this matter.

Ambassador Nwannebuike OMINYI called upon the governments of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger to reciprocate this goodwill by reaffirming their commitment to ECOWAS’s principles and values. He emphasized that withdrawal from the community is not a solution; rather, embracing dialogue and cooperation offers constructive avenues for addressing common challenges.
The President of the League reaffirmed its steadfast support for ECOWAS in its mission to advance peace, stability, and development in West Africa while charging all member states to collaborate in solidarity and mutual respect to overcome any obstacles that may arise.
Ambassador Nwannebuike called on the international community to sustain its support for ECOWAS and other regional bodies in their endeavors to build peace and resolve conflicts. He underscored the importance of a locally-driven approach in addressing Africa’s challenges effectively.
The President reiterated the League’s commitment to the vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated African continent. He emphasized the transformative potential of collective action, asserting that by uniting, Africa can surmount its challenges, bridge divides, and forge a brighter future for all its citizens.
The lifting of sanctions by ECOWAS marks a significant stride in the collective pursuit of peace and prosperity in West Africa. It serves as a testament to the potency of dialogue, cooperation, and solidarity in surmounting challenges and charting a course towards a more prosperous future for the continent.
