Lagos Police Confirm Arrest of Social Commentator Scott Iguma, Set for Arraignment
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of social commentator Scott Iguma.
In a statement released on the morning of July 17, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that Iguma will be arraigned before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi on a 10-count charge. The specific charges were not disclosed.
“Scott Iguma will be arraigned on a 10-count charge at the Federal High Court Ikoyi this morning, July 17, 2025,” the statement read.
Iguma, known for publicly calling out real estate firms over alleged fraudulent practices, was arrested on Wednesday, July 16.
Following his arrest, a message posted by his associates on his social media page claimed he was detained over statements he made about a particular real estate company.
