Labour Party Holds NEC Meeting in Abuja

The Labour Party under the leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman is currently holding a crucial National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja. 

The meeting brings together key party stakeholders, including Abia State Governor Dr. Alex Otti and his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu. 

Top agenda items include the inauguration of an interim National Working Committee and the establishment of strategic committees to oversee membership re-validation and party congresses.

The meeting aims to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections with notable attendees include Comrade Joe Ajaero, National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, and a representative of the Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Sylvester Ejiofor. 

Party insiders say the meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening the Labour Party’s organizational structure and preparing for future political engagements.

In addition, the NEC is expected to set up various strategic committees, including one to oversee the party’s nationwide membership re-validation exercise, as well as a congresses committee to be tasked with organizing forthcoming party congresses at various levels.

The National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero, is also at the meeting.
