Jonathan, Akufo-Addo Visit Buhari’s Family in London to Pay Last Respects

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

Jonathan was received by Vice President Kashim Shettima and members of the Federal Government delegation, who are in the UK to oversee arrangements for Buhari’s return and burial. He offered heartfelt tributes to Buhari, acknowledging his contributions to Nigeria and West Africa.

Also present during the visit was former Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, who joined Jonathan in honoring the late Nigerian leader.

President Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, at the age of 82 while receiving medical care in a London clinic. His death has drawn condolences from African leaders and global figures, recognizing his influence on regional peace, governance, and security.

Vice President Shettima, acting on President Bola Tinubu’s directive, is leading the official delegation tasked with accompanying Buhari’s remains back to Nigeria for burial.
