Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has pledged to prioritize soft infrastructure in 2025, building on two years of significant physical development in the state.

This was disclosed in his new year message as he unveiled his plans to introduce social programs aimed at easing economic hardships. He assured residents that ongoing projects would be completed while new ones outlined in the 2025 budget would commence.

“This year, we will focus on not just building roads but also strengthening our people; physically, socially, and economically,” he said, promising to remain a compassionate , responsible and responsive leader.

The governor also reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, noting that his administration has financed projects without borrowing or accessing security votes. He called on opposition members to collaborate with the government for the betterment of the state as they are also stakeholders.

Highlighting his achievements, Adeleke stated that in the past two years, the government rehabilitated 150 kilometers of roads within the state, upgraded 100 schools, refurbished 200 health centers, and provided over 300 water facilities. “Osun is now a giant construction site,” he said.

He also mentioned social initiatives his administration has embarked on. These include financial empowerment for artisans, bursary programs for students, and improved support for senior citizens through regular pensions and free medical services.

Governor Adeleke also mentioned progress in education, citing the growth of Osun State University and the establishment of the University of Ilesa as well as the establishment of a technical institute inside the university.
