House Committee Pays Working Visit to Lagos Camp, Charge Corps Members on National Unity

The Federal House of Representatives Committee on Youths Development, chaired by Honourable Martin Esin, along with other Committee members, paid a working visit to the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja during the ongoing 2024 Batch “A” Stream I Orientation Course. 

The purpose of the visit was to enhance the welfare and development of youths.

During the visit, the Chairman of the Committee addressed Corps Members and stressed the importance of the NYSC in national development. 

He charged the Corps Members to unite towards this common goal.

The State Coordinator, NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, conducted the Committee around Camp facilities for inspection. 

She emphasized the need for a new Orientation Camp and hinted that the Lagos State Government had already commenced work on the scheme’s site in Agbowa, in Ikorodu Local Government.

In a separate development, while fielding questions from the OBS team, the Chairman hinted that the Committee is on course to use the human resources of the scheme to drive developmental projects, provide opportunities for youths, as well as support.

Other Committee members present at the camp were Hon. Joseph Adegbesan, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Patrick Umoh, Hon. Abdulhakeem K Ado, Hon. Olamijuwonlo Alao Akala, Hon. Whingan Sesi, Mr. Ahmad Ali El-Kufah, Clerk of the Committee and Mr. Lamir Umar Ibrahim, Special Adviser on youth to the Honourable Speaker of the House of Representatives.
