Felegon Educates Corps Members on Social Media and Sexual Harassment

NYSC Legal officer, barrister Felegon Umeh has emphasized on the positive use of social media and condemn sexual harassment in whatever space.

She said upholding positive use of the social media contributes to a healthy and peaceful society.She made this assertion during a lecture delivered to the 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream two Corps members undergoing orientation exercise at the permanent orientation camp, Iyana-Ipaja.

She stated that some corps members record videos without permission and also intentionally or unintentionally invade peoples privacies with their social media contents.


She explained that some videos made by some corps members go viral and cause a lot of harm and controversies due to their contents and the parties involved do not find it convenient.


Barrister Felegon warned that if found guilty of invasion of privacy or posting of improper social media contents especially about the Scheme such a Corps member will face the appropriate sanction .


She further addressesd the issue of sexual harassment, asking female corps members to report any form of sexual harassment from fellow corps members or officials, while warning male corps members not to try and harass any female corps member and vice versa.
