Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, made a striking appearance at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday, showing up in full legal regalia—wig and gown—as he stood before Justice Emeka Nwite in Court 8.

Melaye’s court appearance comes just a week after he was officially called to the Nigerian Bar, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his professional life.

Celebrating the milestone, Melaye had shared photos from the call-to-bar ceremony on social media, including one with fellow lawyer Deji Adeyanju. One of his captions read simply, “Done and dusted.”

The former lawmaker had earlier announced in April that he passed the Bar final exams. “Law school results are out. I made it to the largest bar in Africa. Who did it? God did it,” he wrote at the time.

Melaye studied law at Baze University, Abuja, following his first degree in geography from Ahmadu Bello University.
