Corps Members Urged to Transform Communities Through CDS

The Assistant Director, Community Development Service (CDS),NYSC Lagos State. Mrs. Grace Oso, has enjoined Corps members to be passionate about adding value to their host communities.
She said identifying the felt needs of the community they would be posted and proferring solutions would engender development and make the society better.
Mrs.Oso stated this during her lecture on CDS to the 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream two Corps members undergoing their Orientation Course at Iyana Ipaja camp.She highlighted that CDS is one of the cardinal programmes of NYSC which runs together with Primary Assignment. She also urged corps members to focus on
improving rural life, promoting good leadership and patriotism in Nigeria.
The CDS Assistant Director, emphasized the need for careful assessment to identify sustainable projects. Corps members were equally advised to work with community leaders to understand community needs before starting any project.
She expressed that the CDS remains a powerful tool for national development, helping to bridge the rural-urban divide and giving young Nigerians valuable leadership experience.
