Chinedu Ogah Decamps from APC to ADC, Joins Coalition—Video Claims Surface Online

A video circulating on social media since Sunday has sparked speculation that Hon. Chinedu Ogah, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency in Ebonyi State, has allegedly decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In the footage, which has been widely shared across Facebook and WhatsApp groups, a man purported to be Ogah is seen among leaders of the African Democratic Congress . The speaker claims alignment with a coalition reportedly formed to “rescue democracy” ahead of the 2027 general elections. The video has fueled debate among political observers and party loyalists, with some interpreting it as evidence of Ogah’s departure from the APC.

However, as of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from Chinedu Ogah confirming the alleged defection. Neither the APC leadership in Ebonyi State nor the national secretariat of the ADC has issued any comment or press release to authenticate the claim.

Attempts to reach Ogah’s media aides for clarification were unsuccessful. A close associate, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the video as “misleading and politically motivated,” urging the public to await an official position.

The purported defection has raised reactions within Ebonyi’s political circles, where defections and realignments have become frequent ahead of the next electoral cycle. Some commentators have cautioned against drawing conclusions without verifiable evidence.

Recall that the state chairman of the ADC, Dr. Jennifer Adibe recently confirmed a wave of new members joining the party in Ebonyi State. In a statement published by Asiwaju Media, the chairman described the development as “a testament to our commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability,” noting that the ADC has become an attractive platform for individuals and groups seeking credible political alternatives.

Until an official statement is released, the status of Ogah’s party affiliation remains unverified.
