CDCFIB Yet to Open Recruitment Portal Day After Announced Start Date

Despite earlier announcements that the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) would commence its 2025 recruitment exercise on Monday, July 14th, the official portal — https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng — remains inaccessible as of today, sparking concern and frustration among thousands of applicants nationwide.

The board had released public notices indicating that the portal would be open for a three-week period, inviting eligible Nigerians to apply for various positions across the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

However, since the slated opening date, users have been unable to access the application site, with attempts resulting in error messages or failed loads.

As of Monday, July 14, and continuing into Tuesday, July 15, hopeful applicants have flooded social media with complaints and screenshots showing the inaccessible portal, calling for transparency and prompt resolution from the authorities.

“I stayed up late on the 14th and have been trying every hour since, but the portal isn’t even opening,” said Chika Okoye, a graduate from Enugu who has been preparing for the recruitment process. “We need to know what’s going on. This is time-sensitive.”

The CDCFIB has yet to issue any official statement addressing the delay or providing an update on when the portal will be accessible. The silence has only fueled speculation, with some users worried that the process may be compromised or delayed indefinitely.

Applicants are urging the board to immediately address the issue and extend the registration window to accommodate the days lost due to the portal’s inaccessibility.

The CDCFIB recruitment exercise is a major opportunity for many young Nigerians seeking employment in the country’s paramilitary services, and any disruption or lack of communication can significantly impact both the process and public trust.

As of the time of this report, the recruitment portal remains offline. Stakeholders are watching closely for a response from the board.
