CDCFIB Apologizes After Asiwaju Media Investigation Exposes Recruitment Portal Failures

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a public apology to thousands of frustrated applicants after a scathing investigation by Asiwaju Media revealed how the agency’s recruitment portal has repeatedly failed Nigerians seeking employment.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, CDCFIB admitted that the process has been marred by severe technical issues, acknowledging widespread complaints about error messages, inaccessible pages, and incomplete submissions.

“We feel your pains because we understand,” the statement read. “From uneasy, redirected gateway and limited portal access to glitches and missing details on your final printouts, we are aware of it all and assure you that you are not alone.”

The apology comes just days after Asiwaju Media published a detailed report titled “When Recruitment Becomes Frustration: How CDCFIB’s Portal is Failing Nigerians”, which documented applicants’ harrowing experiences. The investigation highlighted how the platform was overwhelmed by heavy traffic almost immediately after launch, resulting in repeated crashes and blocking thousands from completing their applications.

Many applicants described staying awake through the night in futile attempts to register. One applicant told Asiwaju Media,

“Please you people should fix this website. I couldn’t sleep throughout the night… the website keeps stopping.”

Others reported confusion over recruitment dates and links after CDCFIB announced changes to the portal address without clear public communication. The report further criticized the lack of effective customer support for applicants who were left stranded.

In its statement, the Board promised urgent remediation:
“All will be fixed and these protocol errors will be entirely adjusted and corrected. The situation will be timely and swiftly handled, and as usual you can continue to dream because a glitch-free portal will be available soon.”

The agency expressed gratitude to applicants for their patience and understanding, adding, “We assure that you are not alone.”

The apology is seen as an attempt to rebuild trust after the negative publicity and public outrage triggered by the Asiwaju Media exposé.
