President Joe Biden has pledged federal support to local authorities following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore City in the United States.
President Biden in a Social media post on Tuesday noted that his discussions with Governor Moore, Mayor Scott, and County Executive Olszewski centered on rebuilding efforts.
“This morning, I spoke with Governor Moore, Mayor Scott, and County Executive Olszewski”.
“I made clear that we’ll send any federal resource they need as we respond to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge and rebuild together”
He added that “The Francis Scott Key Bridge is vital to our economy, and it’s vital to our quality of life”.
“That’s why I’ve directed my team to work with Maryland and move heaven and earth to reopen the port and rebuild the bridge as soon as humanly possible”.
