The former Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairman, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma), has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest (Anambra 2025) the November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State.

The ceremony was held at his Osumenyi country home in Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday where he was officially received by the Osumenyi APC Ward 1 Chairman, Hon. Ikechukwu Onyeka, alongside other ward executive members.

In the event, Ukachukwu expressed his joy at joining the APC to link Anambra State to the center (Abuja).

He said, “I decided to join the ruling party and contest for the governorship position after several calls and intense persuasion by concerned individuals, civil society organizations, and political groups, particularly the Sustenance of Faith in Governance (SOFIG), Ikemba Frontiers, Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, 21/21 Movement, Integrity Movement, and Golden Ladies, urging me to contest for the governorship position in the state.

“I am running for the governorship election to sustain the tempo of good governance that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has initiated in Nigeria.

I am contesting to make Anambra a better place for all Nigerians. I have been in politics since 1999, so I have what it takes to govern Anambra State.

“I am fully prepared to liberate my people from the challenges of insecurity, poverty, hunger, and hardship currently affecting the state under Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)-led government.

“My administration will align with President Tinubu’s vision of inclusiveness, where everyone residing in Anambra, irrespective of political affiliation, tribe, ethnicity, or region, will participate in my government. I will ensure Anambra is part of national discourse,” he assured.
