Abia CP Orders Tight Security Ahead of May 30 Sit-at-Home

The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Team Commanders to bolster security at their bases and safeguard government infrastructure ahead of the May 30 sit-at-home declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

This directive was issued during a high-level security briefing held at the Command Headquarters, where CP Isa charged the officers under his command to remain on high alert and strictly enforce the existing Operation Order.

In a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, and made available to journalists, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of vigilance and close supervision of personnel, particularly those stationed at strategic locations.

The statement noted that rapid response teams have been placed on standby to swiftly address any potential security breaches or emergencies.

Additionally, CP Isa ordered the continuation of “Operation Show of Force” in collaboration with sister security agencies across the state, aiming to deter criminal elements and reassure the public.

“The Commissioner of Police assures the good people of Abia State of a peaceful and secure end-of-month period. He urges residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station or via the Command’s emergency lines,” the statement concluded.
