Lagos Corps Members Sensitized on WASH Campaign
Corps members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Lagos State, 2024 Batch C Stream 1, have been sensitized on the importance of promoting sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH Campaign) solutions in local communities.
The sensitization program, organized by the Ministry of Youth Development and Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation in conjunction with Self Help Africa, a non-governmental organization, was launched at the Iyana-Ipaja camp.
The event featured a 24-hour inter-platoon challenge, games, and challenges that promoted the practice of handwashing. Corps members were tasked with curating pitches to promote the WASH campaign.
Platoon 10 emerged as the overall winner, receiving a cash prize of 500,000 Naira. Platoons 2 and 8 claimed second and third places, winning 350,000 and 200,000 Naira, respectively.
The prizes were presented by dignitaries, including the Lagos State Coordinator, Mrs. Christiana Salmwang, and the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development of Lagos State, Mobolaji Ogunlende.
