Gunmen abduct two Reverend Sisters in Anambra
The two Reverend Sisters were said to be returning from their Vocational Association meeting at Ogboji in Orumba South local government area when they were kidnapped.
Sister Vincentia Maria is the Principal of Archbishop Charles Heerey Memorial Model Secondary School, Ufuma while Sister Grace Mariette is a teacher at Immaculate Girls’ Model Secondary School Nnewi.
The Secretary General of Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Onitsha Sister Maria Ikeotuonye in a statement says the two victims were abducted along Ufuma road in Orumba South local government area on their way back.
She calls for prayers and supplications to God for their release as soon as possible safe and sound.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra state, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga said Police-led Joint Operation was ongoing for the possible rescue of two catholic nuns allegedly kidnapped .
In a statement, Ikenga says the Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Itam alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations visited the scene for a spot assessment and possible arrest of the suspects and rescue of the victims.
