75-Year-Old Edo Woman Dies During 2025 Hajj In Saudi Arabia

A 75-year-old pilgrim from Edo State, Adizatu Dazumi, has died during the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Dazumi, who hailed from Jattu Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area, passed away on Monday at the King Fahad General Hospital in Makkah after a brief illness.

Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Musah Uduimoh, confirmed her death on Tuesday, stating that she fell ill shortly after performing the Tawaaf (circumambulation of the Kaaba) and was taken to the hospital on Sunday. She died the following day.

“She was buried in Makkah on the same day, according to Islamic tradition, and her family in Jattu Uzairue has been informed,” Uduimoh said.

He offered his condolences to the bereaved family and reassured other pilgrims that the board remains committed to their health and safety.
